Brighton 2011 |
Nike is a warm, open and welcoming people. We are also hospitable. That is why we welcome people from other lands and climes with open hand and share with them practically everything we have.
The sad news however with our open-door policy is that, oftentimes, our visitors have exploited and abused our warm-heartedness.
As an organisation, Umunike United Kingdom and Ireland is here to serve the interests of both our host communities and our home people. We are here to work towards the upliftment and protection of the interests of the people of Nike both at home and in the diaspora.
We hope to achieve these noble objectives by carrying out development projects, helping in the education of our people, and participating in leadership activities.
We carry out community projects which include, but not limited to: building of roads; bridges; provision of clean, drinkable water; provision of electricity to the rural communities, etc.
We also provide grants and other monetary inducements to our youths to enable them acquire the highest level of education they are capable of attaining. We embark on school projects, like building and maintaining school buildings; equipping school laboratories and sporting facilities.
